Pacific Rim 2 On its way Out..

Its Official now , Pacific Rim 2 has been confirmed by Guillermo Del Toro and will be returning to the hot seat to direct the sequel to the Legendary Pictures  blockbuster where Jaegers fight off Kaiju in a big way to save Earth from their planned and timely invasion . This is really an awesome news , this was inevitable.




The movie was made on a budget of $190 million and total world wide box office collections was $411 million, enough to break even.Though it didn't do well in the US box office as expected but it certainly did enough to convince the Producers and Studio to make a sequel.

The film is scheduled to be released on 7 April 2017.

Del Toro also said that he and his team along with the sequel are also working on Animated Series based on Pacific Rim. He is working on Projects with Zack Penn ( X-Men : The Last Stand ) and Travis Beacham ( Original Pacific Rim).

At the moment, the director is working on a horror movie Crimson Peak Starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chestain and Mila Wasikowska. It is scheduled for release  in October, 2015.

Dr Strange ,The Sorcerer Supreme is Finally Coming

It seemed Unreal to me when Stephen Strange was mentioned in Marvel's Captain America :The Winter Soldier and i literally went nuts, couldn't imagine that the Sorcerer Supreme would be on screen soon.

Those of you who are not familiar with this Marvel Property, Dr Strange a.k.a Stephen Strange,Co-Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Doctor Strange is a former Neurosurgeon whose career was cut short when he met with an accident. Then he traveled to the Himalayas to seek the counsel of the Ancient One, Tibetan Sorcerer. As the Ancient One's guests he learned about sorcerer's pupil Baron Mordo was trying to kill his mentor and when he tried to warn the sorcerer, Mordo restrained mystically. Finally freed from the spell of Mordo by the Sorcerer, who took him as him disciple and trained him and he came to be known as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme- the protector of Earth against magical and mystical dangers.

As Marvel is heading with Phase 3 of its Cinematic Universe, Dr Strange is a part of  phase 3 of Marvel Universe, along with the likes of Thor 3, Captain America 3 and  Ant-Man, scheduled to release in July 2015.

Coming to the Cast, who is to play the character, the actors are being finalized and its all coming down to Tom Hardy or Benedict Cumberbatch.
My Vote goes to Benedict, he deserves this. The kind of roles he has portrayed on screen till date, this man is definitely gonna make it. Though Tom Hardy too can do justice to the character. Lets wait and watch who makes it.

There is just one problem here, most of people in India have either  never heard of this superhero nor read any thing about the sorcerer supreme. It can completely rule the box office or can be a dud .

It is rumored that Doctor Strange is going to be released in July,2016.

Hercules

Hercules is the upcoming American Adventure movie based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars (Radical Comics) by Steve Moora and Admira Vijaya.

The Film is Directed by Brett Ratner and stars Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson, Ian McShane , Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan and John Hurt. The Screenplay is written by Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos.  It’s jointly distributed by Paramount Pictures and MGM.

Brett Ratner is known for his Films like X-Men The Last Stand, Horrible Bosses , 21,Rush Hour Trilogy and The Family Guy.His Upcoming Movie is Beverly Hills Cop slated to be released in the year 2016.

Premise of the Talkie

After completing his legendary twelve labours, Hercules ( Dwyane Johnson), the Demigod, has his life as the sword for hire tested when the King of Thrace (John Hurt)  and his daughter seeks his aid to defeat a ruthless warlord.

For the preparation of this role, The Rock took on a grilling training routines like none another, working for 8 months and while filming too and this is what he has to say about the routine.

 "I trained and worked harder than ever for 8 months for this role. Lived alone and locked myself away (like a moody 260-lb. monk) in Budapest for 6 months while filming. Goal was to completely transform into this character. Disappear in the role. Press journalist asked me today, with the mental & physical toll the role had on me, would I do it again? Not only would I do it again.. I'd do it f*****g twice."

Total budget for this movie is $110 million and is scheduled to hit the screens on 25^th of July, 2014.

It is awkward that this version of Hercules is actually second movie to be released this year, first being Summit Entertainment’s The Legend of Hercules, which bombed at the Box Office, i mean literally.

The Big 6 of Hollywood

These have been there and will be there to rule the Hollywood.

Whenever you watch a movie either at screens or at home wonder how the movies have been made , who produced it and who secured the right of these movies. The movie industry is quite competitive and here its money which drives everything.

There are 6 major studios, mentioned below, actually comprise of almost 80% of US and Canadian Box Office Revenue.

And there is another group who are just about there, aka Mini-Majors, Lions Gate Entertainment and the former Biggie MGM. Other studios too are just about there like Paramount, Reliance Entertainment, CBS Corporation.

Since the rise of film making these studios are at the helm of American and Global Film Industry.Today the Big 6 Studios regularly distribute hundreds of movies every year into all important film markets situated world wide.

Below are the big 6 studios.

1. Warner Bros Entertainment- With total of 17.1% (2013 figure) its the biggest of all industry . Its a subsidiary of Time Warner, with its headquarters in Burbank, California and New York. It has its own animation studio, Warner Bros Animation.Other divisions include Warner Bros Pictures, Castle Rock, HBO Films, New Line Cinema, Turner Entertainment.

2.Walt Disney Studios- Total of 15.9%. Its  a subsidiary of Disney.Its also based in Burbank, California. It is one of the most renowned and respected film companies in Hollywood and World. Founded in the year 1923.Has Animation studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, LucasFilm Animation. Other Divisions Include, Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Lucas Films, Touch Stone Pictures and UTV Software Communication.

3.NBC Universal-13.9% share belongs to this company. Subsidiary of Comcast has its Headquarters in New York.  Comcast owns 51 % and GE owns 49%. It includes Universal Studios, Focus Features, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Animation Studios.

4.Columbia Tristar Motion Picture Group- It has around 11.2 % share. Parent Company Sony Pictures Entertainment. It remains a big player in the business. Founded in the year 1998, headquarters in Culver City, California. This group has Columbai Pictures,Sony Pictures Classics, Screen Gems, Stage 6 Films, Sony Pictures Animation and Tristar Pictures.

5.Fox Filmed Entertainment- This group comes under 21st Century Fox, total share of 10.8%. It was founded in the year 1985 and is situated in Los Angeles , California. It is named after William Fox, who created the original Fox Film Corporation.It has Fox Search Light, 20th Century Fox, New Regency, Blue Sky Studios and 20th Fox Animation Studios.

6.Paramount Motion Pictures Group- It is been consistently ranked as one of the big 6 studios. With share of 8.94 % , it does justice to it. Owned by Viacom, its divisions include Paramount Pictures,Paramount Vantage, Paramount Animation, MTV Films, Nickelodean Movies and Insurge Pictures.
